About Me

With over 10 years of experience in corporate learning and instructional design, I specialize in creating engaging experiences by focusing on the learner. My background spans course and program design, facilitation, procedural training, legislative compliance training and eLearning development.  For example, I developed, managed, and delivered software training for an organization of over two hundred employees undergoing a software conversion.  I also created an employee onboarding program for an organization of over one thousand employees that spanned post-hire activities through 90-day probation period and beyond. I hold a Bachelor of Journalism from Carleton University, an Advanced Facilitation Skills certificate from Friesen, Kaye and Associates, and a Learning Design certificate from the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies.

I am passionate about creating compelling and effective learning experiences that align with your organizational goals while addressing the unique needs of your learners. I typically begin with needs assessment, engaging in thorough discussions with stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure we identify the “problem to be solved”, and uncover the learners’ experiences and motivations. Whether you need a full-scale learning program—from initial needs assessment through design, prototyping, iterative testing, and final evaluation—or targeted support (like converting a classroom course to an engaging eLearning experience or developing effective tools and job aids), I offer flexible, customizable services to suit your needs.

My design philosophy centers on empathy and a thorough understanding of the needs of both clients and learners. I blend proven instructional design approaches like ADDIE with agile methodologies like SAM to deliver training solutions that are innovative—using elements like gamification, microlearning, and social learning— and strategically aligned with business objectives. By continuously refining each solution based on feedback, I ensure that every learning experience is adaptable, effective, and truly resonates with your learners.

In addition to my design expertise, I bring technical proficiency with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline and Rise 360, photo editing tools like Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, sound editing tools like Audacity, virtual classroom tools like Zoom and Webex, and Microsoft Office 365 (including Teams). I also utilize project management solutions like Asana and Trello. I am committed to continuous learning, embracing new technologies and methodologies.

I have a strong familiarity with Canadian privacy and accessibility legislation, which enables me to ensure that learning programs comply with legal standards, and to develop effective training on these critical topics.

Why choose me?  I put learners first while remaining flexible to address your specific challenges.  With careful planning and a creative approach, we’ll transform your learning challenges into clear achievements.
